REPRODUCIBILITY OF THE ASTHMA IMPAIRMENT AND RISK QUESTIONNAIRE (AIRQ)

TOPIC: Allergy and Airway TYPE: Original Investigations PURPOSE: The Asthma Impairment Risk Questionnaire (AIRQ™) is an equally weighted, 10-item, yes/no, control tool that assesses both symptom impairment exacerbation risk (a total score of 0-1 yes responses indicates well-controlled; 2-4, not 5-10, very poorly controlled asthma). AIRQ™ was validated in a cross-sectional study 442 patients all disease severities, aged ≥12 years, followed specialty care. When measured against current ACT™ plus prior-year chart-documented exacerbations, the final models yielded receiver operating characteristic area under curves 0.94 to identify well-controlled vs well-/very asthma 0.93 well-/not disease. METHODS: sample 110 participating longitudinal validation (N=1112) were randomly selected complete two weeks after their 12-month follow-up assessment.
